To promote the education of our future agricultural leaders, the SCFAA awards the Ernie Hinson and Larry Smith scholarships annually to students majoring in agriculture attending Clemson University and other state colleges. The Hilton Rogers FFA scholarship is also awarded annually to a worthy FFA high school student majoring in agriculture at Clemson University.

NEW: SCFAA is offering a $1,000.00 scholarship to a student in good standing attending John De La Howe Governor’s School of Agriculture to support the completion of a SAE project. The Mike Watkins Scholarship will be awarded in early 2024.

The South Carolina Fertilizer and Agrichemicals Association is offering a $1,500.00 scholarship
to a student attending Clemson University, majoring in agriculture and planning to pursue a
career in agriculture. The Larry Smith Memorial Scholarship will be awarded
July 2024 at our Annual Convention and Business Meeting.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Must be a US Citizen from South Carolina.
2. Open to all undergraduate students including incoming freshmen.
3. Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 (on a 4.0 scale).
4. Must be planning to pursue a career in agriculture.
5. Must be majoring in one of the following fields of study: Plant Science, Agronomy,
Agriculture Education, Agriculture Engineering, Genetics, Horticulture, Biology, Forestry,
Wildlife Science, Animal Science, or other related Agricultural majors.
6. Winner agrees to furnish a two to three minute video telling a little bit about themselves,
their goals and how the scholarship will help them continue their education. Video will be
shown at our Summer Convention and posted on our website.

Education, Agriculture Engineering, Genetics, Horticulture, Biology, Forestry, Wildlife Science, Animal
Science, Natural Resource Management or other related Agricultural majors.
